Weekend Getaways From DC #1: Baltimore
Maryland offers some of the most breathtaking hideouts near DC where I love spending my weekends in. Baltimore is a great place to have a weekend vacation especially if you love sailing. It is considered to be the largest port in the United States and offers so many activities that you can engage in. Aside from sailing activities you can also enjoy the Inner Harbor as well as the Maryland Science Center for an educational tour. The National Aquarium and the Fort McHenry also tops the list of must-see places in Baltimore. Maryland is just a few miles east of DC so driving there every weekend if you want to, is not really a problem.
Weekend Getaways From DC #2: New York City
Of course, everyone’s favorite destination (or maybe it’s just me). New York City is one of my favorite weekend hideaways from DC where I always enjoy spending the weekends in. New York City is the busiest city in the world and it really lives up to that tagline. Here, there are so many things you can do and I think a weekend is not enough. This is why I always make sure to go back there from time to time to really enjoy each district and the many offerings of this city. Shopping is one of the main reasons why I like to go here. From designer brands to local ones – they are all here. There are also a lot of vintage shops here if you want something authentic. Times Square and Central Park are also popular destinations. The Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty and Broadway are very popular establishments that you should never miss when in New York.
Weekend Getaways From DC #3: Brandywine Valley
Many people in DC tend to neglect this picturesque place. But it offers some of the most breathtaking views you will ever see. The 2-hour drive north of DC is definitely worth it. I like spending my weekends here if I want some serene environment to detoxify and rejuvenate my mind. I strongly advise going to the Longwood Gardens for the most breathtaking nature sight you have ever seen. It offers 1,050 acres of year-round treasure from woodlands to meadows and gardens. There are also different museums you can go to such as the Hagley museum and the Winterthur museum.
Getaway To Relax And Rejuvenate
It is okay to take respite once in a while. Reward yourself for working hard all week so you continue feeling motivated and determined to excel in your work. These are my favorite places to relax and rejuvenate during the weekends to keep me motivated and determined to excel in my work. I hope these weekend getaways from DC list of mine helped you get some ideas where you can relax even for just two days.
